SYDNEY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Object Consulting announces that Lead Appraiser, Warwick Adler has completed a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) appraisal placing one of Shandong provinces’ largest telecommunications companies at Level 3 of the global standard. The appraisal further strengthens Object Consulting as one of Asia-Pacific’s most experienced practitioners of capability improvement.

Mr Adler is Australia’s most experienced CMMI Lead Appraiser, having completed over 40 appraisals, including 10 in China. He was contracted for this latest appraisal by the Business Software Engineering Association of China (BSEAC), the leading proponent of CMMI in China, who had been working with the telco, TelChina, over preceding months to achieve the requirements of CMMI Level 3.

Mr Adler commented that the telco’s investment in achieving CMMI reflects its commitment to quality, and the nation’s demand for improved features, reliability and performance of Chinese-developed software.

It is also in line with China’s national focus on developing as an innovation economy – reflected in China’s emergence among the world’s fastest-growing regions for CMMI appraisals. The governing body for CMMI – Carnegie Mellon’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI) noted in its 2009 Mid-Year Update that, of the 4,726 CMMI-related appraisals conducted between 2002 and 2009, nearly 20 percent - some 946 - were conducted in China.
