HANOI, Vietnam--()--Herbalife, a global nutrition company (NYSE: HLF), announced today that the Vietnam Olympic Committee (VOC) has named Herbalife Vietnam as the Official Nutrition Sponsor for Vietnamese athletes bound for Rio 2016. The new agreement marks the continuation of Herbalife’s nutrition sponsorship for Vietnam’s Olympic athletes, as well as the company’s inaugural sponsorship of the country’s Paralympic athletes.

As part of Herbalife’s continued support of sports nutrition and performance in Vietnam, the agreement paves the way for Herbalife to provide its wide range of nutrition products, sports nutrition consulting and training to the athletes and coaches participating at the Rio 2016 Olympics and Paralympic games.

In addition, Herbalife Vietnam signed a new five-year sponsorship with Vietnam Sports Administration (VSA), making it the Official Nutrition Sponsor of Vietnam Sports from 2017 to 2021. As the Official Nutrition Sponsor, a role which Herbalife has enjoyed since the London 2012 Olympics, Herbalife will provide apparel and sports nutrition products to all Vietnamese teams and athletes participating in international sports competitions. These include three Southeast Asian (SEA) Games (2017, 2019, 2021), three ASEAN Para Games (2017, 2019, 2021), the 2018 Asian Games, and the 2020 Summer Olympic Games.

“We are delighted to be named, once again, as the Official Nutrition Sponsor for the Olympic-bound Vietnamese athletes. We are incredibly proud of what the athletes have achieved in the past five years, and are committed to doing more to support the growth of sports nutrition and performance in the country. We are also happy to be extending our support to the Vietnamese Paralympic athletes for the first time, and hope that our nutrition advice and training will give them an added edge going into the Rio 2016 competition,” said Stephen Conchie, vice president and general manager, Herbalife Southeast Asia. “Herbalife has always been a strong believer in the power of sport as it exemplifies the healthy active lifestyle that we promote. With our renewed commitment as Vietnam Sports’ Official Nutrition Sponsor, we are looking to deepen our relationship further and help athletes and coaches maximize the benefits of sports nutrition to achieve maximum performance.”
