SHENZHEN, China--()--Shanghai 6 Hours, the penultimate round of 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) season, concluded at the Shanghai International Circuit on November 1st. The #29 Morgan-Nissan of Pegasus Racing, which is supported by Hytera Communications, finished its debut in FIA WEC race at 5th in the highly competitive LMP2 category with 152 laps by two Chinese drivers David Cheng and Ho-Pin Tung and a third British driver Alex Brundle.

The race started on a murky rainy morning which creates a lot of challenges for all the cars but benefits the #29 Morgan-Nissan, helping it take a leading position in the first half during the changing intensity of rain. As the track started to dry in the second half, all the cars successively went back to the pit and switched to dry tyres, and the Pegasus car gradually lost the lead. David Cheng, the Chinese-American driver finally finished the race at 5th among all LMP2 contenders. "We are the only team using Michelin tyre in the LMP2 class. The Michelin tyre has advantages over Dunlop in the rain. If the rain can last longer, we may have the opportunity to touch the podium. Anyway, we are still happy with the result," he said.

The FIA WEC is called Devil Racing due to its rigorous requirement on the cars and drivers in keeping high speed and also stability and teamwork for long-time race. One of the FIA WEC races is the well-known Le Mans 24 Hours, from which Hytera and Pegasus Racing kicked off their collaboration. As a leading solution provider of Professional Mobile Radio communications, Hytera provided a total solution with DMR technology to Pegasus Racing in securing seamless communication between the driver and the pit to keep the car in excellent condition for the race. "During the race, we will inform the driver when is the ideal timing to come back for fuel charging or tyre change based on the data we capture from the car. Instant communication is very important for the team. I am sure that Hytera products have helped us achieve a lot of good results in the races. And we are looking forward to upgrading our existing equipment with Hytera technology in the upcoming future," Julien Schell, the founder of Pegasus Racing said.
