NEW CATEGORY - VOTE ONLINE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD

This year, AustCham has extended the Awards programme to include a new award category - the 'People's Choice Award'. This Award recognises one of this year's Finalists that the Australian business community in Greater China believes has contributed the most to Australian business across the region over the past year.

Now in its seventeenth year, the Australia-China Business Awards celebrate the success of Australian business in Greater China. The Awards Programme is also an opportunity to acknowledge the Australian business community throughout Greater China.

The AustCham Australia-China Business Awards 2009 are organized and promoted by AustCham Beijing in association with the China Australia Chambers of Commerce in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Guangzhou and the Australian & New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Taipei. The Australian China Business Council and the Hong Kong Business Association also endorse this Awards programme.

Winners of the 2009 AustCham Australia-China Business Awards will be announced at a black-tie gala presentation dinner on Thursday 3 December 2009 at the China World Hotel in Beijing. Guests will celebrate the excellence of Australian business success in the region with the Australian Ambassador to the P.R. China, Dr Geoff Raby and leading dignitaries and business people from across Greater China.

 Judging

Entrants are required to provide submissions outlining their business successes, with Finalists then undergoing a personal interview before a panel of judges. The Judging Panel includes the Senior Trade Commissioner for Beijing and a representative from three Australian Chambers based in China.

Winner Announcements

Award winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner attended by His Excellency the Australian Ambassador to the People's Republic of China, Dr Geoff Raby and Consuls General from across Greater China. The Gala Dinner will be a night to celebrate Australian business excellence in China.

The ACBA:09 Gala Dinner will be held at the China World Hotel on Thursday 3 December.

Kakadu is an Australian restaurant in the purest sense. It serves food and drink that are easily recognised as modern Australian cuisine. Aussie steak, lamb, emu, crocodile, barramundi, pavlova, bush spices, Aussie wine and beer can all be found on the menu.

*        Spaceframe China

Spaceframe China has established two companies to undertake work in the industrial construction sector. Spaceframe Construction & Engineering Co Ltd performs design and construction services. Spaceframe Building Products Co Ltd supports manufacturing capability and trades in construction related products in domestic and export markets.

Galaxy commenced as a Perth based specialty minerals exploration and development company, in 1996. Galaxy's major asset is its 100% interest in undeveloped Mt Cattlin Lithium Tantalum Project, located in Ravensthorpe Western Australia and the proposed Jiangsu Lithium Carbonate Plant located in China, together, the Galaxy Lithium Carbonate Project.

*        Urban Art Project

Urban Art Projects (UAP) is an art-based design consultancy specialising in the delivery of large-scale site-specific artwork for architectural and landscape environments. Wagas is a multi award winning chain of cafes in Shanghai serving gourmet sandwiches, coffee, salads, smoothies with delivery & catering services. *        Look Media China (LMC)

Look Media China was registered in China in 2008, with key products including the Walker and printed escalator media. The Walker is a backpack advertising billboard containing an LED screen which illuminates a printed image. The printed escalator media is applied to escalator handrails using a LMC-designed and manufactured applicator machine.

*        Meinhardt

Meinhardt is a professional services business specialising in engineering, project management and specialist technology services. Meinhardt's experience covers total project consultancy through Masterplanning, Detailed Design, Design / Project Management and Construction Phase Services.

 *        AUNEW Group Holding Pty Ltd

Aunew Group includes two pharmaceutical factories, GMP Pharmaceuticals (AU), and GMP Pharmaceuticals (NZ). Both factories offer a unique "One Stop OEM Service" to Asian migrants. Aunew has set up the world's 1st Aus/NZ concept store, Aunew Hub in Beijing, and with a specially designed system, is helping small-medium size Aus/NZ companies export to China.

*        EIC Group Ltd

EIC is a company providing student recruitment services for international institutions, organizing marketing activities to promote international education in China, IELTS training for students who want to study abroad. EIC represents more than one hundred colleges and schools in Australia, including all Group of Eight universities.

*        Just Beer

Just Beer is the official importers of all Fosters beer products and certain Lion Nathan beer products into Mainland China. The portfolio consists of Fosters, Crown Lager, Pure Blonde, VB, Cascade, Redbacks and James Boags. Just Beer also provides market entry assistance to alcohol and other F&B providers into the Chinese market.

BAU, Brearley Architects and Urbanists, is an architecture, landscape and urban design company. The Shanghai office was opened in 2001, together with a Chinese partner. The increasing number of projects in China led to a complete relocation to Shanghai in 2004, where the company employs 60 people from all over the world.

*        CSR (Guangzhou) Building Materials

CSR in Guangzhou manufactures metal faced composite panels, acoustic and fire insulation materials and for buildings and industrial plants. CSR was established in 1995 as a joint venture rock wool plant in Dongguan city.

*        Sinogold

Sinogold is in the business of exploring, discovering, developing and operating gold mines in China. It is the largest international gold mining company in China and activities are exclusively focused on China. Gold mines in operation are located in Guizhou and Jilin provinces, and projects under development are in Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia.

 The AustCham Australia-China Business Awards has for 17 years been a means of recognising companies that have worked to deliver Australian products or services to the Greater China region.
