Shanghai Media Group, The Wall Street Journal and ZOL Named Official Media Partners for Inaugural CES Asia

ARLINGTON, Va.--()--The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today announced that Shanghai Media Group, The Wall Street Journal and ZOL have been named as official media partners for the 2015 International CES AsiaTM. The inaugural event is scheduled to run May 25-27 in Shanghai, China.

“These top tier organizations know the ins and outs of the tech-business world, particularly in emerging Asia, and as such have been strategically selected to be our valued partners for this first-year event,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president of corporate business strategy and the International CES, CEA. “We look forward to seeing the results of their world-class media coverage of the leading innovation coming to market through CES Asia exhibitor products and technologies, plus reporting on the visionary ideas and concepts coming to life on the stages of our conference programming.”

Shanghai Media Group (SMG) is a multimedia television and radio broadcasting, news and Internet company and is China’s largest provincial broadcast media outlet and integrated culture industry group. The company employs more than 5,200 people, with capital assets totaling RMB 11.7 billion.

ZOL is the largest IT and digital portal site in North China with 120 million daily visitors and will produce the Best of CES Asia Awards. Senior editors from ZOL will evaluate submitted products and award winners will be announced onsite. More details on this exciting awards program will be outlined in the coming weeks.

The inaugural CES Asia will take place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) and will draw global businesses to showcase the latest products and technologies entering the Asian marketplace. From major global brands to innovative startups, the full breadth and depth of the Asian marketplace’s innovation value-chain will be on display at CES Asia, which will span 20,000 gross square meters (8,500 net square meters) of exhibit space in its first year. CES Asia will feature the latest in 3D printing, robotics, wearables and other trends spanning 14 product categories.

CEA is co-producing CES Asia with Intex Shanghai Co., Ltd., a prominent producer of international tradeshows in China. Special co-organizers for CES Asia include the Chinese Electronic Chamber of Commerce (CECC) and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Product (CCCME).

The China Electronics Chamber of Commerce (CECC) is a national corporate organization of the electronic industry with companies and organizations dealing in electronic products across China. CECC is the largest association in the industry of electronic information products and has a total of 18 local branches, 12 special committees and six industrial alliances, serving more than 5,000 members including direct affiliated members, members of local branches and members of special committees.
