NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Russell Reynolds Associates today announced that Justus O’Brien has joined the firm to co-lead its CEO and Board Advisory Services alongside industry veterans Charles A. Tribbett, III and Ron Lumbra. The services are designed to help boards address escalating risk and compliance issues. O’Brien will be based out of the firm’s New York office.
O’ Brien joins a global team that combines expertise and experience across a wide spectrum of disciplines. The team comprises former and sitting directors of public company boards, leadership and management consultants, as well as legal, governance, regulatory and communications experts.

O’Brien’s addition to the team follows the appointment of Jack “Rusty” O’Kelley III to globally lead the firm’s expanded Board Effectiveness Practice in September 2014.
With over 17 years of search and succession planning experience, O’Brien most recently served as co-head of an executive search firm’s CEO Succession Practice. In this role, he focused his efforts on board and succession work for Fortune 100 clients. During his tenure, O’Brien also held several leadership positions, including head of the global Consumer Practice and U.S. Board Practice. Previously, he was senior vice president at Leo Burnett International, where he spent 16 years in the company’s Chicago, São Paulo, Caracas and Miami offices.
O’Brien has lived in the U.S., Spain, Brazil, Venezuela and the U.K. and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. He earned a B.A. in English Literature from Cornell University and an M.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.
