Bill Blass™ Names Chris Benz as Creative Director

CFDA-Winning Designer To Reinvent Classic American Brand

NEW YORK--()--In its first strategic move under the direction of newly appointed President and Chief Operating Officer, Stuart Goldblatt, Bill BlassTM today named Chris Benz as Creative Director to the brand, effective immediately. Reporting directly to Mr. Goldblatt, Mr. Benz will be responsible for the overall creative direction of Bill Blass.

“Chris’ modern design aesthetic, understanding and connection to today’s woman will be instrumental in reimagining Bill Blass into a 21st Century brand,” said Mr. Goldblatt. “We are excited to welcome Chris to the Bill Blass team. His proven talent will lead the brand into its next phase as we look to build on the significant heritage and influence Bill Blass brought to the industry.”

Prior to joining Bill Blass, Mr. Benz enjoyed a successful and award-winning career in fashion. Through his experiences at Marc Jacobs, and later as a designer at J. Crew, Mr. Benz drew relevance and inspiration to launch his own collection, CHRIS BENZ, in 2007. Throughout his career he has been honored by Forbes’ 30 Under 30 and WGSN. Mr. Benz attended the prestigious Parsons School of Design, where he was recognized with the “Emerging Designer Award” from the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CDFA) in 2004.
