NEEDHAM, Mass.--()--The Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) announces the results from its first Steering Committee elections since the consortium’s founding in March. Winners of the elections were chosen from the IIC general membership and are:

  • Prith Banerjee, Managing Director of Global Technology R&D, Accenture
  • Jacques Durand, Director of Standards and Engineering, Fujitsu
  • Stan Schneider, CEO, Real-Time Innovations, Inc.
  • Janos Sztipanovits, Distinguished Professor of Engineering, Vanderbilt University

The newly-elected committee members will each serve a one-year term and will join representatives from the five IIC founders (AT&T, Cisco, General Electric, IBM, and Intel) as well as Executive Director, Dr. Richard Soley on the Steering Committee.

“The goal of the Industrial Internet Consortium – from the very beginning – has been to bring large industry, small industry, academia, and nonprofits together to discover the future direction of the Industrial Internet,” said Dr. Soley. “I am delighted to be the first to welcome the new Steering Committee members. Not only will their unique points of view strengthen the Committee, but they will be integral in the adoption of IIC testbeds, use cases, and standards requirements.”

The IIC Steering Committee is the governing board for the IIC and defines the overall priorities of the IIC, sets its direction, provides fiscal oversight, approves all testbeds, defines and manages IIC Policies and Procedures, and other items as required.

New committee members will take their seats at the Industrial Internet Consortium’s quarterly members’ meeting in Austin, Texas, USA the week of September 15th. Nonmembers interested in learning more about the IIC are welcomed to attend the forum, “Catalyzing the Networked World for Economic Growth” on September 15th in Austin.
