aqLink Enables Critical Telematics Services with Proven Reliability

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Airbiquity (www.airbiquity.com), a global leader in wireless connected services, has signed a global licensing agreement with DENSO, a leading supplier of automotive components to Japanese and other major automobile manufacturers worldwide based in Kariya City, Japan. Under the agreement, Airbiquity will license its aqLink in-band software modem to DENSO to support a North American automotive telematics program.

“Airbiquity has worked closely with DENSO to deliver this important product,” said David Jumpa, senior vice-president of global business development for Airbiquity. “Airbiquity was chosen to provide DENSO with two-way wireless connectivity through our aqLink software modem, an already road-proven product with more than 12 million vehicle installations to date.”

Airbiquity’s aqLink technology offers DENSO a solution that allows them to use the voice channel to transmit data for critical and time-sensitive information. The modem also transmits data without unpredictable delays, regardless of the time of day or of wireless data network congestions often observed in large metropolitan areas.

Airbiquity’s aqLink software modem can be integrated onto a wireless module, Bluetooth hands-free kit or a navigation system to deliver sought-after connectivity applications to OEM customers to meet vehicle users’ needs.
